About

Alim Ladha with Master ChiefHi, my name is Alim Ladha and I created the website Game Developer to help aspiring Indie Game Developers create games!

I’ve loved playing games ever since my first computer – a 386. Some of you might not even know what a 386 is. Let me tell you, it had a beautiful black background with a mono-chromatic bright green for visuals.

By playing games, I’ve developed an interest in creating games. I like developing all aspects of a game, including game programming, think about the logic, and creating game art.

There’s a lot of noise out there on how to create a game. I found it difficult in getting started. Before I knew it, I was just trying to learn all the time and never implement. Or even worse – analysis paralysis (don’t ask me about how much I looked into which game engine to choose).

It’s really difficult completing a game (and even more difficult completing a successful game).

When you’re trying to release a game, being a perfectionist will stop you. It will stop you from releasing it, reaching your goals, and ultimately success!

With game development, you should definitely think and plan. But you should also be doing and implementing.

Whenever you go through any tutorials, be sure to follow along by doing it as well (not just watching).

Are you just starting out as an Indie Game Developer?

Are you having a hard time making a game?

I’ve been through it all:

  • self-doubt
  • procrastination
  • scope creep
  • changing ideas all the time
  • boredom
  • “too busy with other things”
  • perfectionism
  • overwhelmed by competition
  • you name it

Yes, all those things will stop you from making and releasing a game.

It’s time to put a stop to those and start putting some fun into the world!

I created this blog to keep me on track and hopefully help others with what I’ve learned.

If you’re just beginning game development then sign up to my newsletter:

Zero spam. Zero B.S. One-click unsubscribe at any time.

I promise to be in depth while keeping only the essential details and cutting down on wasted time.

Most of all, have a little fun – after all, you’re working with games!
